@V3GAdigi1 That’s not true. It was Phelps who held 200 IM (long course) records from 2003 until end of 2008 Beijing Olympic. It was after 09 that Ryan took over from Phelps NOT always. You’re right, I forgot about last year events. I think both swimmers are phenomenal and deserve credit for what they have been able to accomplish.

3:30 going to kiss? lol. ryan lochte is just dominant these days, when breaking a WR is pretty hard, because of the ban on those hightech suits. nice last leg for lochte, but repect for phelps.

@1224erday because the lack of oxygen is your biggest enemy during the last 50m at 200 IM. Lack of oxygen = more lactic acid in your muscles = harder to keep your technique at max speed = loss of speed.

Also, their freestyle technique allows them to breath like that without really losing any speed, their freestyle is built up around how they breath and their dolphin kick.

@afara2000 ryan is not the best swimmer in the world and never will be. 10 years ago michael was already setting world records….lochte was just learning how to swim.

@nbacswimmer I said Lochte is the best swimmer now, not ever. Since 2009 he has been unbeatable you like it or not. We’ll see in summer of 2012 if Michael can come back to the top. But I think both swimmers have potential to be the best in next olympics.
